For maximum flexibility, ease of integration and scalability Meteor printhead drivers have a modular architecture. Central to to the Meteor system is a Print Controller Card or PCC which interfaces between the data flow from a customers PC and a specific Head Driver Card.
Meteor PCC manages the data flow from the PC to each of the printheads. It also provides head to head data slicing with user configurable interleave, connections for Encoder, Product detect and large print array slave synchronisation.
Driving each printhead to the full manufacturer's specification Meteor provides unique head driver cards known as HDCs. Simplifying cabling each card powers the printhead, delivers the head data and provides input for printhead thermistors or additional peripherals.
